Hello and welcome to SliderJon's Help Site. This site is dedicated to helping you troubleshoot and fix the ailments afflicting your PC. Since tech support can be quite a nuisance with most companies (which keep you on hold forever!), I decided to create this site as a useful option to tech support. All of the questions posted on this site are answered by other members who have either had the same problem or have the knowledge of the solution to the problem posted (this is called peer to peer support).
Below, you will find a listing of the different options you have on submitting your questions. Please use the archives first before posting your question; if the problem was posted before, you will find it there.
This should be your first stop. This option lets you view problems that have been posted in the past. As the forum's messages get crowded, the messages are saved in the archives for future reference.
If your problem is not listed in the archives, this would be your next available option. In the forum, you can post, read and reply to messages posted by other users (this is called peer-to-peer support). Please try to be specific about your problem when posting it. You can include information like type and speed of your processor, Operating system version, total memory installed, total hard drive capacity and space available, etc.
Finally there is the chat room. If someone is on the site that has an answer to your problem, you may choose to enter the chat room to get real-time messaging for the fix. This is especially handy when your problem requires an immediate remedy. As this site grows, there may be scheduled chat sessions which will cover specific topics; please stay tuned for this feature. When it becomes available, I will include a calendar with the dates and subject matter.
While browsing this site, you will find text in different colors. Below is the legend of what the colors represent.
